It saddens me to say that the club has this evening parted ways with one of the finest managers in our clubs history.
After Speaking with Darren [Ferguson], he feels that a new challenge is needed for both himself and the football club.

Posh Manager "falls on sword." |
We have had over 8 incredible years together with tremendous success on and off the field. I will be forever in his debt for the great times, fantastic football and professionalism he has brought to our football club.
I also have no doubt that wherever he goes next, it will lead to great success for him and the club he next works for.
I’m personally very disappointed in our current league position, the performances from our playing squad and the fact that we have dropped way below our own standards that we set out at as a football club.
There is plenty of young and experienced talent in this squad and with 14 games left in the season, I have personal expectations that our players will all lift their performance levels to match the incredible passionate performance and display by nearly 2000 Posh fans today when we were 3-0 down at Stadium MK.
It has not been our finest 6 months results wise or performance wise as a football team and my remit is to now go out and find a new football manager and coaching staff that will challenge and inspire these players to greater heights and to start fulfilling their potential individually and collectively.
Some fans have questioned my own commitment, interest, investment and passion for this football club recently; so to them I say with full sincerity and honesty, I am hungrier than ever to get this club back into the Championship and beyond and to deliver on the promises I have made to the City of Peterborough.

PBROTRIB COMMENT:
The PBROTRIB says: Sad to see Mr Ferguson depart, our good wishes go with him, but this could be the lightening rod to motivate both players and fans. It is also significant that several other names have also suddenly departed. It is now down to all of us to support and re-build the Football Club, it can be done. And to make it work, the club, squad and juniors have to become more centered and focused on its supporters. Currently its not happening. The club might also consider booting out some of the 'lardy ar*ses' who populate the boxes but make little day to day contribution to the Club.
It has to be disgraceful that within minutes of the announcement Stewart Jackson MP and some local councillors were busy twittering the news to anyone who would listen, as if it was their idea.
If the club management didn't have to devote substantial time and resources in playing games with City Hall and dealing with Marco Cerestes pi**poor Cabinet, POSH would have had more time for the game. Hopefully the Cabinet too will move on, or be pushed out of office in MAY.
There must be a football team in Sunny Umbria that needs new leader, introducing never ending road works and piles of Chinese manufactured solar panels.
Supporters can really make a huge statement on behalf of their Club simply by voting in the Local Government Elections in May, and voting out the entire Cereste controlled Cabinet and getting in new councillors and new council officials who appreciate how a brilliant football team is important to the wellbeing and wealth of this City.
