The search for MH370 and it 'black Box' flight data recorders is set back as the Flaperon IS confirmed by French authorities as belonging to the missing Boeing 777, well away from the search zone. |
+++ BREAKING NEWS +++
Julian Bray reports: In an amazing turnaround French authorities in Paris are now saying the recovered Flaperon wing assembly part recovered from a beach is definitely from the crashed Boeing 777.
The Malaysian authorities had earlier said they were certain the recovered debris was from the missing aircraft but the French investigators refused to recognise the Malaysian claim, and demanded further extensive laboratory tests in Paris.
Investigators matched an etched serial number on the flaperon, which washed shore on the French island on July 29, directly to component parts used in the manufacture of the missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 plane.
A technician from Airbus Defense and Space (ADS-SAU) in Spain, which had originally made the part under contract for Boeing, conclusively matched the missing data to their own records.
Recovered from a beach, Boeing777 flaperon wing section after extensive tests in Paris is from missing MH370 say French |
This new position flies in the face of several reports casting doubt on the origin of the debris, and an assertion the barnacles and other marine encrustations are 'foreign' to the suggested search zone.
Meaning in effect the search area (some 2,500 miles away from the newly confirmed Flaperon find on Reunion Island) needs to be extended, changed and/or the existing search areas totally abandoned. The search process is effectively back to square one.
