The number of passengers flying Ryanair has risen by 12 per cent, with 9.55million flying on the Irish airline in September, compared with 8.49m last year. Load factors (percentage of seats filled) increased to an astonishing 94 per cent.
Ryanair marketing director Kenny Jacobs said: "These record monthly numbers and load factors are due to our lower fares, our stronger forward bookings and the continuing success of our 'Always Getting Better' customer experience programme, which continues to deliver stronger than expected traffic and load factors on our biggest ever summer schedule."
Ryanair is to introduce new services such as car hire and embark on a revamping of its plane interiors, said to be one of the 'youngest' fleet of aircraft being operated by major airlines, in a bid to attract new business customers , and a market well beyond cheap air fares.
