Farewell................ |
Sky News has announced a major shake up, as it moves into an computing automated studio set-up (with little or no effective gallery say insiders!) and it smacks of budget belt tightening and de-skilling in the News operation, less reliance on live location reporting, not everyone is happy about it.
Expect some later changes as the new schedule beds in and also expect the Ian Kings evening business show, to to be incorporated say insiders, into a more generic personal finance / family money slot.
What is of greater interest is the on air talent, that now only appears at weekends, having seemingly been airbrushed from the weekday schedule. A bold move but will it work?
A few familiar long serving faces have exited, but one 'ancient' care worn face gets prime mid morning slot.
Here are the new weekday and weekend schedules:
6am-10am: Sarah Jane-Mee and Jonathan Samuels present Sunrise
10am-11am: Adam Boulton presents a new show on Brexit called All Out Politics
11am-3pm: Colin Brazier and Jayne Secker present their usual lunchtime show
3pm-6:30pm: Kay Burley now on slightly later, extended into the evening
6.30pm-7pm: Ian King’s evening business show
7pm-9pm: Dermot Murnaghan taking over Sky News Tonight
9pm-midnight: Anna Botting does the papers
And the weekend schedule:
6am-10am: Stephen Dixon and new co-host Isabel Webster present Sunrise
10am-2pm Saturday: New show for Niall Paterson
2pm-5pm Saturday: Sophy Ridge presents
5pm-8pm Saturday and Sunday: Gillian Joseph
