|The Simpsons suggested, some sixteen years ago ,Donald Trump would one day be President of the USA.|
Its a taste of things to come, following the victory of Donald J Trump now President elect of the USA. The Federal Aviation Administration [FAA] has now banned all flights over New Yorks' midtown Manhattan - where Trump Tower is situated, the overfly TFR ban is likely to remain in place until President elect Trump moves into the White House in January.
The 'temporary flight restriction,' or TFR, was actioned on Nov. 9 and continues through Jan. 21, 2017. Taking in the run up to Christmas and New Year. It bans flights from the surface upto 3,000 feet with a radius of 2 miles. According to the FAA's website, the restriction is described as a "VIP movement."
NY Locals are hoping Mr Trump will possibly move to one of his other properties during this festive pre White House period; possibly the Trump Turnberry Hotel & Golf Course in Ayrshire Scotland, has been suggested.
In particular, flights on approach to LaGuardia Airport frequently fly northward above the west side of Manhattan or Hudson River at about 3,000 feet. It is expected this restriction will cause flight delays at LaGuardia. However the restrictions do not affect helicopters going into or out of heliports on the east and west sides of Manhattan.
